It’s release day and we’re busy as hell. We have 100 elves packaging and sending out every single download at iTunes, Amazon, GetBusyCommittee.com, etc. It’s a lot of bit-manipulation but it’s worth doing because it’s important work. It could save the world, and we know this, so we will keep shipping music until everyone is happy.
Tonight is our release party and we want to thank the fine folks at True Love & False Idols, Zune LA, Suru, Known Gallery, PBR, and Lensley for making it happen. We’re proud as hell to see Hypebeast, probably the best streetwear site on the planet, picked up the story about the party and the EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION True Love & False Idols shirt, available ONLY at Suru in Los Angeles. Get on in there and get yours before they’re gone. You might not even want to wear this one. Just buy a mannequin and put it on display in your living room.
If you can’t make it to the party tonight, don’t sit home and mope, sit home and win some KILLER Get Busy Committee goodies courtesy of our friends at Hip Hop DX and Better Propoganda.
Here’s how you enter both contests:
Better Propoganda:
1. Follow @bProp on Twitter.
2. Follow @GetBusyCommittE on Twitter.
3. Tweet this link.
Hip Hop DX
1. Follow @hiphopdx on Twitter.
2. Follow @GetBusyCommittE on Twitter.
3. Tweet this link.
How easy was that? You sent two tweets and got entered in to two contests. And now for our feature presentation…
Today is the day, Get Busy Committee’s Uzi Does It is available at fine retailers everywhere. You can buy from iTunes around the world, plus Amazon, Rhapsody, Lala, Emusic, Zune, 7Digital, Nokia Music, Puretracks, HMV, Spotify, and on and on.
Go to where ever you usually buy music and take a look. Let us know if you don’t find it!
Please do us a favor and go to your favorite retailer and write a glowing review, telling all their customers how much you love the album. Something like:
Thank you Get Busy Committee. Thank you for having fun with the beats, and for rhymes that aren’t your standard fare. For being clever and funny but still being such damn talented MCs. Thank you for the variety. Thank you for not having any lame skits. Thank you for making every track count. Thanks for having subject matter that’s hard and not some emo nonsense. Thanks for not taking yourselves too seriously. Thanks for stopping short of making it a joke. Thanks for making my favorite hip hop record of 2009.
Let’s see how many iTunes reviews we can have by morning.
Don’t forget you can always buy the album in special formats right from this site, GetBusyCommittee.com. Currently we’re offering a 2GB Uzi-shaped USB flash drive and a limited edition True Love & False Idols t-shirt along with a CD-quality digital version of the album.
Thanks for the support. Tell a friend.
If you’ve been putting off buying the whole Get Busy Committee album, Uzi Does It, it’s time to put it on. In advance of Tuesday’s release via iTunes, Amazon, and every other retailer in the world, MySpace and Get Busy Committee are bringing you a ridiculous offer to download the entire album for only $1 through Monday, November 9th! To grab yours, simply visit the Get Busy Committee MySpace page and click the button!
Of course if you get there and decide you want to buy an Uzi-shaped 2GB USB flash drive and a True Love & False Idols Get Busy Committee Uzi Does It t-shirt, please do.
And big ups to the good people at MySpace Music for the love and support — check us out on the front page and music home page of MySpace! GBC DOIN’ BIG THINGS!
So our friends True Love & False Idols are throwing us a little party on Tuesday night. DJ Cheapshot is going to do his thing, we’ll play Uzi Does It, and generally rub elbows with superstars like Kim Kardashian, Byron Allen, Wee Man, and Grand Daddy IU.
While we wish we could invite every single one of you, and fly you in from all corners of the world, it’s a private party with very limited space and the ABC won’t let us post any details publicly. Keep an eye out for your invite and if you Monday you think you’ve been left off by mistake give us a shout on Twitter and if that’s true we’ll sort you out.
Regardless we invite you to host your own Get Busy Committee release party where ever you are on Tuesday. Here’s how you do it:
1) Grab a couple DJ Cheapshot mix CDs
2) Buy a copy of Uzi Does It from GetBusyCommittee.com
3) Invite all your friends over
4) Have a few drinks
5) Play the Cheapshot mix followed by Uzi Does It followed by another Cheapshot mix CD followed by Uzi Does It again
6) Call your local radio station and ask them when they’re playing Get Busy Committee next
7) Flip through a copy of US Weekly to see some stars
8 ) Head up the street for the after party
9) Post photos of your Uzi Does It Party to Facebook, Flickr, or MySpace and send us the link
ENJOY
Wow. KROQ showed love for their LA brethren tonight when they took a chance on a new group called Get Busy Committee…
They played “I Don’t Care About You” around 7:30pm…
Half an hour later, DJ Nicole Alvarez said the phones were going off for GBC…
Shortly after that, Nicole tweet’d saying the track was getting enough calls to possibly make the Furious 5 at 9!
“I Don’t Care About You” entered the Furious 5 at 9 at #5, getting played alongside some real rock stars. Nicole hyped the track and even complimented the album cover!
Not bad for a self-released group from LA.
If you think KROQ should play more Get Busy Committee, feel free to hit up their request page here, or use your phone and hit up their request line.
To download your copy of “I Don’t Care About You” visit our store page and either buy the album (thanks for the support, since we’re self-released the $$ goes straight to the group, no middle man) or get your free copy by sharing on MySpace, Facebook, or Twitter.
Good lookin’,

Thanks to everyone who has been tweeting our “My Little Razorblade” over at Hype Machine. We couldn’t believe it when we were #10 on their “what’s hot on Twitter” chart on Monday, then later in the day we climbed to #3, and the next morning we woke up to find ourselves at #1. Thanks for all the love and support.
Click here to tweet and keep us on the chart!
Thanks again,
