Get Busy Committee’s very own Scoop Deville is deservedly blowing up. 10+ weeks on the chart and Scoop’s “I Wanna Rock” still in the top 10…
…now a HOT HOT HOT track for Fat Joe and Young Jeezy:
Check out MTV’s interview with Scoop here.
Download Ha Ha by Fat Joe (Produced by Scoop Deville) here.
Endless props for the beat in places like Soul Sides.
So what’s that mean for Scoop and Get Busy Committee? “Get Busy Committee is still my #1 project,” says Scoop. “We’re kicking off our live show at SXSW in a month, then a tour. Coming soon to a stage near you!”
Congrats to Scoop Deville. Blow up the airwaves this year, kid.

Tuesday night we put together a very special 12″ offer and made it available to our fans first. Hopefully, with the help of our fans, we’re pressing a very limited edition, numbered, picture disc. When you pledge $1 or more for our project at Kickstarter.com you help us get closer to the pressing. Without your support in helping us reach $3,218.28 (the cost of the pressing at Erika Records), though, these records won’t exist. So come on over and pledge your support now, and get yourself a numbered copy of the album in return.
But not only are we selling the album, one lucky buyer will be immortalized ON THE ALBUM in a song by Get Busy Committee made especially for and ABOUT them. They’ll also receive copies numbered 1 and 2 of the 12″, with #1 in a PLATINUM-STYLE PLAQUE, framed and suitable for wall-hanging.
Others will receive one of the first 100 pressed plus a phone call from Get Busy Committee where you can ask them whatever you want about where the fuck Reseda Beach is, what happened to Apathy’s Atlantic record, what it’s like growing up Kid Frost Junior, where Busta Rhymes gets a midnight snack, or which member of Linkin Park likes to get their swerve on. Or if you’re a little more strapped for cash you could just get a copy of the 12″, or even just the digital version of the EP which will contain THREE unreleased Get Busy Committee songs.
The only place we publicized it was to our mailing list in hopes that those who have been with the band from the beginning would have first crack at the special premiums and it’s a good thing we did — a user by the name of Damon Black picked up the $1000 package in LESS THAN 24 HOURS. WOW. Damon, we are stunned, honored, and humbled and in the words of Apathy, “He is the shit!” Please get in touch with us so Get Busy Committee can start crafting a masterpiece in your honor.
Everyone else, please come through and pick up one of the other copies of the 12″. Unless we reach our goal of $3,218.18 we get $0. We need your help in getting there.
THANKS!
The single will feature “I Don’t Care About You” b/w “Say Whaaat?” from Uzi Does It. Stream or download “Say Whaaat?” below and feel free to take these widgets and stick them on your site, MySpace page, Facebook page, whatever.
From the Get Busy Committee department of shameless promotion, Get Busy Committee kicks off their new career as bloggers with the above video featuring yer boy Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Look out for Part 2 featuring Busta Rhymes soon…
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 10, 2009
LOS ANGELES, CA – This week Neilsen Soundscan reported 2009 sales statistics for CDs and digital downloads. Digital album sales rose 16%, CD sales were down 18%, and vinyl sales were up 33% (!) over 2008 levels.
But in the biggest bright spot in the industry, Bob Nielson (no relation) reported sales of Uzi-shaped USB Flash drives were up more than 1000% and growing. Released October 27th by Tokyo Sex Whale Records via GetBusyCommittee.com, the Uzis, pre-loaded with Get Busy Committee’s album Uzi Does It, has been selling consistently and the site has had trouble keeping up with demand. “We originally manufactured 1200 USB Uzis,” commented Tokyo Sex Whale Records principal Apathy, “now we have less than 50 in stock and are scrambling to manufacture more.” “If the industry can see such a huge jump in just one format in just the last two months of 2009,” added Tokyo Sex Whale’s co-head Ryu, “imagine what the rest of 2010 is going to look like. This could be the year of the USB Uzi just as 1988 was the year of the cassette.”
The success has been so encouraging Tokyo Sex Whale and Get Busy Committee are planning another, even more limited, unique and eye-popping release later this week. Stay tuned and sign up to the email list below for updates.
Sorry for being quiet over the holiday. Apathy was on tour in Europe, Ryu was playing Santa, and Scoop was making beats for everyone from The Game to Fat Joe. But now they’re all in NYC (along with DJ Cheapshot, 2tone, Bishop Lamont and yours truly) working with Matt Lenski on a video for “I Don’t Care About You”.
You may have seen some of Matt’s previous videos for Fall Out Boy, Mark Ronson, or others. Take a look here.
In Matt’s words, “This video definitely isn’t going to be like any video that’s been done before.”
Random, poor-quality blackberry photos from the video shoot will be uploaded here as the day progresses.
Stay tuned…
Get Busy Committee and DJ Cheapshot will be live with Rude Jude and Lord Sear on Shade 45 TONIGHT on Sirius Satellite Radio. Tune in to channel 45 6-8pm EST and listen in…
Get Busy Committee’s own yungun Scoop Deville produced Snoop’s latest hit, “I Wanna Rock” and Scoop and Ryu are all over the video.

Congrats Scoop on another hit!
If you already purchased a Get Busy Committee Uzi Does It 2GB Uzi-Shaped USB Flash drive, you should have received it by now. Fans are receiving theirs and the tweets are rolling in.

The Uzis are in stock, shipping, and you can have yours in your hand before the holiday. We have less than 100 left at the moment, so if you want one, order now and it’ll come before Christmas.
It’s a business doing pleasure with you,
Dutch
